Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels, Inc.
CRS supports this program run by hotelier Bill Foussard and his friend Barb Aslesen, who together decided that everyone should be able to enjoy the kind of Thanksgiving dinner that the two of them were used to. They provide over 13,700 meals (turkey and dressing, potatoes, peas, corn, cranberries, rolls, pumpkin pie and milk) to 2,700 families, a project that involves over 2,000 volunteers.

“The most beautiful urban marathon in America.” TCM is also one of the largest marathons in the United States that involves over 10,000 runners, 3,000 volunteers, 100,000 spectators, and 2 cities.

This day program for adults with developmental disabilities currently serves 190 clients with varying functioning levels. With a 45 year history, PRI was one of the first organizations in the area to consider employment as a viable alternative for people with disabilities.

At the heart of the FSTLC is the Fred Wells Education Center (FWEC), whose mission is to assist and encourage our community’s most challenged youth in achieving a greater sense of empowerment and personal responsibility through tennis and education. The Center offers after-school and summer programs for students in grades 3-8 that challenge them mentally, physically, socially and academically to reach their full potential in school and in life.

Hope Community has a long history of community connection in one of the most diverse and economically challenged areas in Minneapolis, MN. Hope has designed and built a two-square block Hope Campus in a neighborhood a mile south of downtown Minneapolis. The organization owns and operates a thriving multi-cultural community in 88 low-income rental units, creating a place where community is encouraged to happen through the creation of relational environments.
